Should You Hire A Professional To Capture Your Proposal?

I know people do hire a professional from time to time to capture their proposal but I didn’t realize just how many did until I stumbled across this article and it said that a massive 47% of people do!

So with that in mind, here are all the amazing reasons you should hire a professional photographer for your proposal!

Reason # 1 - It Flies By!

I have only been on the receiving end of this scenario (outside of photographing it) and it happened so fast for me. I could only imagine how fast it would feel the moment you drop down to one knee. The world around you would cease to exist as your heart raced. The memory of the whole moment would be nothing but a blur.

Once the Joyous tears dry from your cheek you may forget they even happened, within weeks or months you may forget where you were standing, what you were wearing and what you were surrounded by. All the little details fade into background noise.

Reason # 2 - It Tells A Story

If you can tell the story from start to finish with images captured, your family will still ask you a lot of questions, but they will get to feel like they were involved. More then that, they will get to feel like they were there to witness it for themselves!

So you can skip the “Where did it happen?”, “Did you cry?”, “OMG, were you surprised?” and move straight to the “congratulations lets celebrate!!”.

Reason # 3 - You Have It All Covered

Obviously it needs to be added to social media! That is where everyone gets all of their information these days. So, once you tell your family and close friends, it’s time to tell everyone else. If you get it professionally documented, not only do you have amazing pictures to splatter all over social media, but they can double as your “Save the Dates”

I know you can get Save the Dates from your engagement session, but having these photos removes the pressure of a timeline from planning your engagement session and you can allow it to play out naturally capturing a story that is true to you. There are soo many fun ideas for this! To see more about engagement sessions go here.

Reason # 4 - You Have A Story - So Let’s Tell It!

You want to share your epic love story to everyone around you. That feeling, it doesn’t fade. You will one day want to share it with your kids and they will love it. Even if you aren’t wanting kids, you will stumble across an anniversary later. It could be a 10th, 20th or even 30th, and you will want to look back and see the story of how it started. You can start with your proposal, move onto your engagement and then your wedding. You will feel like you’re there all over again, reliving the happiness and joy. It will never get old to you. Stories stick around, photography is priceless.

Do You Hire A Professional?

I always recommend you have someone capture your story for you, the question is, friend or professional? Everyone has a smartphone to capture images or a video of the moment, but the images you will get from a professional will be able to double as your Save the Dates and they don’t run the risk of being blurry. Your professional will have guidance for where to stand to make sure everything is captured. On top of that, your partner doesn’t know them, so you will get undivided attention and the professional can blend in until just the right moment!

Are you planning to propose?! I would love to chat about it!!
